Cheapest Michelin Pro 3 Race Road Tire

I love the Pro3 Race tires. They are light weight, reasonably durable, and very fast and have a really nice looking low profile which I very much like from an aesthetic sense. The only bad thing I would have to admit is that they seem to get cut by glass a little more easily than other some tires I have used (like the Continental 4000s I have used as well). On the whole, I love them! See if you can find them for under $50 US, as they are on sale at times for good prices from different merchants around the globe (not always at Amazon). I like them so much, I haven't bothered to try a lot of other tires, so I can't compare too a lot of others out there.

I have no complaints about traction, or cornering grip. Great ride.

Thule Parkway Hitch Bike Carrier - 4 Bike Order Now

I really enjoy this rack, it is a huge improvement over my old trunk mount rack. It is sturdy, easy to assemble, fairly easy to mount to the car, holds 4 bikes, and is well worth the price I paid. I consider it a good buy!

My only 3 complaints are similar to the ones posted:
1) The receiver hole is too far from the assembly. It seems like it would be more sturdy if the hole was placed 2" closer.

2) To connect the carrier to the hitch requires tools and more time and effort than necessary. It has a pre-drilled hole and is connected with an M12 receiver bolt. Unfortunately, standard hitch pins and clips are 1/2" diameter... a tad too big for the pre-drilled holes. Some people are commenting that they are getting new holes put in for these reasons. (although, I'm not sure exactly where to go to get this done...)

3) The arm assembly is bolted together with 2 bolts, which means to fold down the uprights when not in use requires more tools/time/effort. To try to correct the problem, I have ordered a 3/8"x2-1/2" squared snapper pin with a 1-1/2" clearance to use in the upper hole of the assembly. The pin is similar to the one included to lower the carrier for rear compartment access. I bought this bike computer to replace a very old, even simpler bike computer that I had made by another company. The larger display makes reading the numbers much easier. One small difference I noticed between my previous wired one and this wireless one is that it takes a little longer for the display to show a change in speed (e.g. I will be climbing a hill and it will read something like 9.7mph and as I start going much, much faster down the hill, it will take a few seconds before it reads 21.3mph.

Like other users, I have received a transient interference that causes my bike computer to register a speed of about 74mph. It really doesn't make much of a difference except for the fact that my "max speed" is not accurate. The fact that this is wireless (and reasonably cheap) means that you have to accept some interference.

One of two problems that I have been having is the transmitter - for some reason it doesn't always make proper contact with the battery, meaning that whenever I go out for a ride, sometimes no signal will be transmitted. So my mileage isn't always accurate and I would have to stop mid-ride to adjust the battery. And yes, I checked the battery. It is fully charged. The problem seems to be in the housing. It isn't a big deal enough to return it but more of a nuisance. The second problem is the magnet - it says it will fit round or flat spokes, but if you attach it to just one it can be a bit flimsy and looks as if a bump would send it flying. I tried attaching it to two spokes, which worked, but the plastic looked flimsy and was already bending. The magnet also stuck out a lot, causing it to scrape the transmitter every time it passed by. I could have avoided this by moving the magnet up, but then I could not attach it to two spokes. I received this item--quickly, as always, and was hoping for the best...after all, all these helmets have the same safety rating. Alas, I was underwhelmed, to say the least. The "padding" on the inside was peeling off and it was downright uncomfortable. The super-expensive helmets are only esoterically better (slightly lighter and that's about it) than moderately priced ones but I think one must spend around $60 or so to get one of good quality that's comfortable, as well. Actually, Costco has a Bell helmet that is more well-made and more adjustable that's around $45-50, I think.

I really hate sending things back but this baby made a quick u-turn back to Amazon. It's the epitome of Chinese crap, IMO. One more note...having tried on several different helmets, I'm convinced it's wise to pick one that's your size, as opposed to a universal fit. Where To Buy Skuut Balance Bike

We originally bought the Skuut for our two year old (who's on the short side), but it didn't fit her. Even flipping the frame upside down didn't allow her to sit comfortably on it. However, our 4 year old (on the taller side) fits fine.

Well, at first, she didn't like the Skuut since she was used to her 12" bike with training wheels. After a few days, she loved the Skuut and pretty much ignored the trainer. She quickly became an expert with the Skuut and was able go fast with her feet up.

So this weekend, we put the lessons learned from the Skuut to the test. We took the training wheels off and tried her out. The morning session was great (from my point of view). With the exception of starting and stopping, she was on her own. As long as she kept pedalling, she was golden. The braking took a little getting used to since she would instinctively put her feet down (like with the Skuut). However, since she sits a little higher on the bike, there's very little braking ability with just the tips of her feet.

The afternoon session went even better. A bunch of kids were outside and she felt the need to show off. She quickly learned how to brake. So all that left was the starting. If she was facing downhill, she could push off a little and jump on the pedals. Pointing uphill was a little more difficult. I think one more day and she'll have it all figured out.

So my ultimate review of the Skuut is that it works. I think it really shortened up the learning curve by teaching the most difficult part (balancing). It gives the child a good deal of confidence, rather than a security blanket like training wheels.

I bought these locks for my kids to use at school. They are a nice looking and functional way to secure school bikes. I particularly like the interchangeable keys. OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable Immediately

I have an original Krytonite-4 U-lock with the ACE II cylindrical lock that could be opened with a simple ballpoint pen tube - although the lock is strong it was too easily compromised for any real usage.

In mitigation Krytonite reacted laudably back in 2004 when the vulnerability was discovered and replaced those locks, that ended Sept/2007. Unfortunately I was not aware of the replacement program, so missed out on it.

However when I contacted Kryptonite about my lock they said they would still replace it with an equivalent lock at the same charge as their regular key replacement program at $20 if I ship the lock back to them. This again deserves merit/recognition.

But the total cost for return shipping and the $20 meant I really could buy a new lock for that price.

Although I would buy Kryptonite again for their good reputation and policies - my research led me to OnGuard U-locks - ConsumerSearch seem to rate both Kryptonite and OnGuard well - they picked the OnGuard Bulldog DT 5012 as one of the better selections and the price at Amazon at just over $25 so qualified for Free shipping - was very good value.

Having the cable means I can secure my front wheel to the U-lock, in turn locked onto a something immovable, rather than having to remove my front wheel to lock with the U-lock.

I was obviously concerned by the negative reviews about the key/lock binding - but my key/lock seems pretty positive and easy to use - so hopefully with good lube maintenance the lock will not give me problems.

My only complaint was that the lighted key came with a battery that was totally flat - but following Amazon's instructions about defective parts I phoned OnGuard - who said they would send me a new battery.

So far, the initial impressions are good - the U-lock seems sturdy and strong - certainly as good, if not better than, my original Krytonite-4 U-lock - and at a price that would have cost me to replace the Krytonite-4, I gain the 4ft cable to help secure my front wheel more conveniently than removal and locking with the U-lock.

Unfortunately it is hard to judge the strength and security of any bicycle U-lock with personal experience - unless one had a bike stolen while the lock was in use. Even that is a difficult call if the thieves used power-tools which probably can overcome most locks fairly quickly other then perhaps the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit (expensive and heavy).
