Mounted and feels very stable on my Motobecane Fantom CX (Cyclocross bike, 27 speeds, 56cm which is appx. a 22 inch bike). Serves my purpose to keep from leaning it everywhere.
Beware of the top screw when putting the two pieces together; the two parts are long enough at the top, above the frame, to snap if over tightened. You will get the impression you need to keep turning until the screw stops, but it will not, it will snap first. (Not my experience, but I read a warning in a review, could see how easily it could happen then took heed).
You may get tempted to see if it can withstand under your body weight. But bicycle kickstands were not designed for that much weight, just the weight of the bike as it leans on it, not human beings, not even a kid. So please don't do it or you will think it is cheaper than it really is.
Finally, the reason for a 4 star rating, there are NO INSTRUCTIONS, not even a diagram, accept for the writing on the bag that you will have to strain to read explaining how to cut the stand to size if need to. I did not have to do any cutting. So try to assemble before cutting, you may not have to. Without instructions, assembly is like putting a puzzle together.
Tools need:
· Phillips Screw Driver
· 6mm Allen Wrench
· and maybe a Hack Saw if stand is too long
