For any bell to work, there should be 'ring' to its sound which makes the sound travel farther and thus alert someone you want to alert. This bell has no 'ring' to its sound. It sounds more like 'tick-tack' rather than 'ding dong'. While using this bell, only I could hear its sound. Pedestrians 20 feet away on a busy road didn't even hear it.
