As a beginner cyclist, these shorts made cycling go from unbearable to bearable. They have a decent amount of padding, and the length and feel are great. They stay in place well. The padding isn't too bulky, so I can comfortably run in them after cycling, which should make them great for a triathlon. For longer rides, I may lean towards something with more padding, but for now these work great.
