I got this cable to replace the dinky one that comes with all the laptop computer locks. I gotta believe thieves laugh at those and reach for the nearest scissors. I use it in conjunction with Belden's "security key" lock that fits in the Kensington slot and works with a padlock. This cable looks really substantial, in fact bigger than most other bike locks.
