I bought these panniers with high hopes. The size was right and the look, in pictures, is nice. But I recommend against them for the reasons below.
The fit of these is extremely poor, especially on the cheap rack also sold on Amazon. These slide around everywhere. The bungee cords are too short to connect to anything, even adjusted to their lowest setting.
The top compartment is a floppy, loose mess, as others have noted. The fabric has no stiffness, and is pulled down by the side bags. Off the bike, there is no way to carry this except the rack loop, which I was afraid would tear off.
I was extremely disappointed in this product and returned it. I have since purchased a trunk bag with zip-out panniers which works much better for my commute to college, and holds nearly as much.
